Last year’s Scientific Meeting seems a lifetime ago given the extraordinary events of the last twelve months and the devastation that Covid-19 has wrought on the aviation industry and our pilot colleagues.
As a result, we carefully considered the merits of postponing the meeting until later in the year, but given the ongoing uncertainty in how the pandemic may continue to unfold, decided that an online meeting would be a prudent move. We now have great pleasure in inviting you to the Association of Aviation Medical Examiners’ Annual Scientific Meeting to be held virtually on Saturday 6th March 2021, with the invaluable and ongoing administrative assistance of 3D Performance. Click here to register.
Confirmed speakers include:
Dr James Hull, Consultant Respiratory Physician, Royal Brompton Hospital
Mr Jon Collier, Air Traffic Controller, NATS
Dr Joanna d’Arcy, Consultant Cardiologist, RAF and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust
Prof Michael Almond, Consultant Physician & Nephrologist, RAF Reserves
Dr Michael Trudgill, Chief Medical Officer, Civil Aviation Authority
The meetings access details will be emailed to all registered delegates week commencing 1 March 2021 and to the email address provided on registration. All CPD digital certificates will be emailed to attendees on the 8 March 2021and CPD points will be adjusted accordingly to match your attendance of each session.
We know that participating in online meetings can be challenging, so we have included plenty of breaks and will be holding a social online meeting at the end of the day so that those who wish to maintain our usual traditions can enjoy a catch up with their AME colleagues over a glass of wine.
We will once again be holding the Association’s Annual General Meeting during the lunch break of the scientific meeting – please attend and let your committee know your thoughts and priorities for the Association as a whole. There will be plenty to discuss, including Brexit and the forthcoming CAA’s new medical IT system (Cellma) rollout.
We look forward to welcoming you all to our online meeting.
